 Jennifer Bryant Hicks - Teacher

Jennifer A. B. Hicks is excited to return to Characterworks! In the past, Jennifer taught several CYT (now Charaterworks) classes and directed shows including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2010), Mulan, jr. and The Sound of Music.  Rebecca McNamee - Teacher

Becky started dancing at 3 years old after she saw Singin' In The Rain and never looked back.  She graduated with a BA in Musical Theater from James Madison University in 2009.  Becky was fortunate enough to direct as well as perform at school and found that she loved teaching and directing as much as she loved performing.  Becky performed professionally at various regional theaters and in DC before moving to Richmond.  Some of her favorite past roles include Philia in A... Read More , Hunyak in Chicago, Rusty in Footloose, and Sally in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.  Joy Osborne - Teacher

Joy began working with CYT (now CharacterWorks) summer camps in 2003, commuting from Lynchburg, VA. In December 2010, she and her husband, Chris, moved to Richmond to join the staff permanently. Joy currently directs the summer camp program. She holds a bachelor's degree from Liberty University and a master's degree from Virginia Tech in education. She is an online instructor for Liberty University. Joy and Chris have 3 young kids.

 Nicole Pearson - Teacher

Nicole Pearson received a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Musical Theater from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Nicole originally discovered her joy for teaching when she taught and directed the West End Assembly of God youth choir for four years during her summer breaks from college.  Grace Sammons - Teacher

Grace Sammons is a CYT/CWorks alum. After graduating from CYT, she moved to the Big Apple and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. With conservatory training under her belt, she moved back to Richmond and has enjoyed working with CharacterWorks since Fall 2014 and performing in the Richmond area, most recently with Virginia Repertory Theatre. She enjoys reading, performing and of course, working with children!

Meg Switzer graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Theatre Arts Education. Heather hails from Jacksonville, Florida. A student of Music Theatre from Florida State University, she has always had a passion for the world where theatre meets music.  Mia White - Teacher

Mia Kirk White has been teaching young children for over 10 years. She holds a Bachelor degree in Early Education from VCU and is also the director of a pre-school in the West End.  Her passion for acting, dance, and voice began when she was very young.  She grew up in the television industry in California and has been involved in theater and film most of her life. She looks forward to teaching the Sprockets class for CharacterWorks.
