Auditioning is the first step for any performer and this class prepares them for the entire process! This class is a fresh opportunity for students to develop their audition skills. Did you know that your initial audition can win you a callback but not a role? Do you know how to prepare to stand out in a callback for a certain character? Do you know how to present a monologue for an acting audition that most programs ask for? You will now! From monologues to callbacks, students will learn what a director looks for and how to prepare for their next audition.
Ashley has her B.S. in Performance Pedagogy and an M.A. in Performance Studies from Bob Jones University. After grad school she taught junior high and high school English, theatre, and public speaking for ten years at a private school in South Carolina. During these years, she started a theatre program at her school and directed and coached over eighteen youth productions, while also co-founding a children’s theatre in Myrtle Beach, SC. She recently received her M.F.A. degree in Theatre Pedagogy at Virginia Commonwealth University.
