Class Description

Our young performers will explore the fundamentals of theater through creative drama games, essential musical theater dance, fun acting exercises and colorful crafts. Students will love discovering the true meaning of Christmas with Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang with the new Sprockets theme, "A Charlie Brown Christmas!"

Joy Osborne

Joy began with CharacterWorks (then CYT) in 2003 as a college student working in the first CYT summer camp program and has been on staff in different capacities ever since. She is an alumna of both Liberty University (B.S. Consumer Sciences) and Virginia Tech (M.S. Ed). When not at CWorks, Joy homeschools her four children, teaches online for VIP Kid, and enjoys running, biking and anything outdoors!


Brooke Abrahamsen

After completing her B.A. in Theater at Arizona State University in 1999, Brooke joined CharacterWorks as a teacher and director, taking on the role of Artistic Director in 2004. Brooke has been part of the production teams of all of the CWorks shows and oversees the teams for all of the productions. Besides acting and directing, Brooke has a background in youth ministry with Young Life and WEAG, and directing YMCA after-school programs. She also loves working with CORE, the High School Leadership program at CWorks. Brooke lives in Richmond with her husband Ryan, and their two girls, Piper and Dakota.
