CharacterWorks - CWorks Serves

CharacterWorks is committed to serving the Richmond area community and encouraging our students to serve. Whether it be sending characters to community events, bringing students to run drama games and workshops for Youth Life, providing scholarships to families in financial need or in the middle of a difficult life event, or giving tickets to community programs, the CharacterWorks family strives to serve its community.

Community Events

Throughout each year, CharacterWorks loves to volunteer in the community to send students dressed in character to meet and greet with children and families at special events. We love partnering with these incredible organizations to bring joy to kids! CWorks volunteers for events like: 
  • Autism Society of Virginia 5k
  • Step Up for Down Syndrome 5k with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond 
  • Night to Shine for people with special needs ages 14 & up

Youth Life

CharacterWorks has been partnering with Youth Life Foundation of Richmond since 2006.  CharacterWorks staff and students provide Fun Fridays for youth life elementary centers, bringing characters, props, games, and performances to the Youth Life students.  In 2020-2021 when Fun Fridays weren't possible, CharacterWorks raised money for Youth Life, allowing them to hire five full time summer interns. CharacterWorks loves watching the youth life students grow in confidence and creativity every time we join them!
