Theater Arts Classes

CharacterWorks is excited to offer a variety of theater classes in 6-week sessions, under the new guidelines, during our 2020-2021 season! To adjust to this unique time, CWorks is moving to 6-week class sessions that will allow class to continue throughout the school year. Classes are a great way for students to gain valuable theater arts training, develop confidence and make life-long friends!

Spring class registration is now closed - we'll see you in class in the fall!

CharacterWorks Class Sessions - New Guidelines

The CWorks staff is thrilled to continue to offer in-person and virtual opportunities in 2021 for students to be together and to grow in the performing arts.

At this time, we know that many families are looking forward to getting back to CharacterWorks activities, while others may not feel comfortable doing so yet. We understand and respect both of these perspectives and any others between, and look forward to the day when everyone can comfortably come together again.

What’s the Same?
CharacterWorks is still dedicated to the mission of honoring Christ, building character, and creating community through quality theatre arts education and performances, and we look forward to carrying out this mission under new guidelines. Classes are still offered once a week. Students enrolled in a winter class are still eligible to audition for the main stage show.

What’s Changed?
The CWorks staff has adapted our typical CWorks schedule and structure to accommodate new health and safety procedures. CharacterWorks has developed these procedures in accordance with CDC and Virginia state mandates.

Class Calendar

Each class lasts for 1.5 hours and runs for 6 weeks. All children ages 6-18 (by the last day of class) may register for a class in their age group. The cost for an 6-week session is $170 per student. Students enrolled in classes who are ages 8-18 by the end of the class session are then eligible to audition for the session's main stage show.
