The Story of a Boy Whose Dreams Came True!

One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song, this musical follows Joseph through the book of Genesis as he is betrayed by his brothers and winds up in Egypt, where he quickly finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh! This thrilling musical is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from a parody of French ballads, to country-western and even calypso, along with the unforgettable classics “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.” This incredible Biblical story of hope, faith, and forgiveness is sure to leave audiences smiling!

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We applaud the time taken by every student to audition and respect the courage it takes all of you to perform in front of an audition panel.
Unfortunately, we were not able to cast everyone who auditioned for this production. The casting process is always one full of difficult decisions for the artistic team, and this show was even more complex than usual due to the simple fact that the number of kids we can cast in the show is limited by the space of the performance venue. If you were not cast, please know how grateful we are for you and how much we look forward to seeing you at future auditions. Thank you for taking this leap!
Your production fees are now active in your family account. Please pay these by this Friday, March 23rd. The first rehearsal is tomorrow, Monday, March 19th from 5-9PM. Please note that all rehearsals are at NORTH RUN BAPTIST CHURCH. The following characters are called to Monday’s rehearsal:
  • Joseph
  • Narrator
  • Jacob
  • All Brothers
  • All Brothers’ Wives
ALL CAST is called to rehearsal on Friday, March 23rd from 5-9PM. The First Parent Meeting, which one parent per family must attend, is this Friday, March 23rd from 7-9PM (also at North Run Baptist Church). The artistic team will also be very willing to offer audition feedback, but ask that you allow two weeks before asking in order for them to focus on getting the rehearsal process on its feet.

We are thrilled to bring this story of God’s enduring promises to the Richmond community this May!
